Investigation underway after human remains found in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON - Police are investigating after human remains were found in Northeast D.C. Sunday morning.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded around 7:48 a.m. to the 800 block of 1st Street for reports of an unconscious person.

Once there, officers discovered the remains.

Police say the cause of the victim's death is under investigation.
