Icy road conditions cause early morning traffic delays

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (FOX 5 DC) - Cold temperatures brought icy road conditions Wednesday morning that caused traffic delays around the area. In Fairfax County, police closed Telegraph Road near Dunsmore Road in the Alexandria area due to icy roadway conditions.

Elsewhere in Fairfax County, icy on the roadway closed Herndon Avenue between Pleasant Valley Road and the Loudon County line in the Chantilly area.

Cold temperatures in the 20s are expected for much of the morning with highs in the 50s coming later in the day. Rain moves in Thursday night and stays in the area until early Saturday morning.
