Hundreds attend vigil honoring Herndon teens killed in Texas crash

Three Virginia teens who were killed in a devastating crash near Dallas, Texas early Friday morning were remembered by friends, family and their community on Sunday. Hundreds of people attended a vigil honoring Holly Novak, 18, Kyle Mathers, 19, and Dale Neibaur, 19.

The teens, all of whom graduated in 2014, were in an SUV that collided with a wrong-way driver along Interstate 30. That driver, 78-year-old Kenneth Frazier, was also killed. An 18-wheeler that was also on the road was unable to stop, and also slammed into the cars, causing both of them to catch fire.

Sunday's prayer vigil at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Herndon was a celebration of life honoring Novak, Mathers and Neibaur. Their passion was music, and all three of them played in Herndon High's marching band. Friends who attended told FOX 5 they remembered them as being funny, talented, and of course musical. Many said they were still shocked by the news.

Two other teens who survived the crash remain hospitalized.
