Howard County police have issued a silver alert for a missing elderly couple

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. - Howard County police have issued a silver alert for a missing elderly couple.

According to Police, 83-year-old Michael John Berzonsky and 82-year-old Ruth Hanna Berzonsky, left their home in the 3000 block of North Ridge Road in Ellicott City after 10 a.m. Saturday.

Family contacted police when they did not return home this afternoon as expected.

Michael Berzonsky is described as a white male, five feet two inches tall, 210 pounds, bald with blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a gray sweater and black jeans. Ruth Berzonsky is described as a white female, four feet eleven inches tall, 130 pounds, with white hair and blue eyes. A description of her clothing is not available.

Police say they were likely driving a burgundy 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, MD license plate 1CH7091 .

Police believe the couple could be in the Glenwood or Gettysburg, PA areas, both former towns of residence and they are concerned for their welfare due to age-related health issues. .
