Heat wave continues in DC area Thursday; high temperatures peak over weekend

Temperatures in the 90s with plenty of sunshine and increased humidity Thursday as the heat wave continues in the D.C. region. FOX 5's Mike Thomas says the heat will peak on Friday and Saturday with temperatures in the mid to upper 90s expected. Thursday's highs will be around 94 degrees.

The radar looks quiet with very low storm chances, Mike says, as high pressure remains off to the south and west. The chance for storms returns this weekend

Highs around 96 degrees expected on Friday and high temperatures peak at around 97 degrees on Saturday with the chance for some afternoon thunderstorms. Sunday temperatures are expected to be around 92 degrees with more storm chances during the afternoon hours.
