Hampton police: Mother of missing 2-year-old is in custody

HAMPTON, Va. (FOX 5 DC) -- The mother of a 2-year-old boy who has been the target of a police search in Hampton, Va. is in custody.

Hampton police say they do not believe that Noah Tomlin is alive.

"This leaves us a little bit speechless, but the search for Noah continues. We will never give up hope," said Hampton Police Chief Terry Sult.

According to police, they've arrested Julia Tomlin, 34, and charges are pending.

The charges have not been revealed.

The child was last seen on Monday, June 24.
