Gas leak at construction site prompts evacuation of some homes in Montgomery County

CLARKSBURG, Md. - A gas leak at a construction site in Montgomery County has prompted the evacuation of some homes in the Clarksburg area.

Officials say a 3-inch high-pressure gas main was hit by excavator around 8:30 a.m. in the area a Green Poplar Loop. Several nearby homes have been evacuated and other homes under construction are being checked.
