FOX Beat: 'The 33' star Antonio Banderas

The new movie, "The 33," tells the story of the Chilean miners, who were trapped underground for more than two months. The film follows their incredible will to survive and their dramatic rescue.

FOX 5's Kevin McCarthy recently sat down with star Antonio Banderas who spoke to him about some of the challenges the production faced while bringing the real-life drama to the big screen.

Banderas said one of the most unique features of the film came from the cinematography work which involved the actors using their helmets to light each other. It made sense, said Banderas, who said they practiced in the days before shooting began.

The star said a nutritionist prepared special meals for the cast to trim them down in order to show the effects of being trapped underground for so long. Banderas also said that you could 'suck it in' on certain occasions.
