FOX Beat: Kevin McCarthy movie reviews of 'Steve Jobs,' 'Goosebumps,' and 'Bridge of Spies'
WASHINGTON - It's movie review Friday with FOX 5's Kevin McCarthy! This week, Kevin takes a look at 'Steve Jobs,' 'Goosebumps,' and 'Bridge of Spies!'
McCarthy says 'Steve Jobs' is an absolute masterpiece of cinema and has the best script he's seen on screen this year. The film gives us a backstage look at the launch of three Apple products: the MacIntosh launch in 1984, the 1988 NEXTCUBE launch , and the 1998 launch of the iMac. Kevin gives the film a 5 out of 5 and says it's the best film he's seen in years.
'Goosebumps' is a great blend of comedy, minor scares and thrilling moments, says Kevin. He said the film is similar to "Jumanji" in the sense that characters come to life. The film is based on the classic R.L. Stine "Goosebumps" books which have sold over 400 million copies. But even it you child hasn't read the books, they will still love the film! Kevin gives it a 3.5 out of 5.
'Bridge of Spies' was inspired by true events during the Cold War. It tells the story of a Brooklyn lawyer, played by Tom Hanks, who is recruited by CIA to help save a rescue pilot detained in the Soviet Union. Kevin says this is his favorite Spielberg film in 10 years and is his best work since 2005's 'Munich,' Kevin loved the cast, loved the cinematography and gave it a 4.5 out of 5 for incredible storytelling, acting and direction!
