Former GBI Agent Arrested for Child Molestation

A former Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent has been arrested on child molestation charges.

According to the GBI, Charles Woodall, 34, was arrested at his family's home in Knoxville, Tennessee by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and accompanying GBI agents. The GBI has been investigating Woodall after sexual misconduct allegations were reported to Bibb Count District Attorney David Cooke.

The arrest followed a recommendation from the DA's Office to pursue arrest warrants.

Woodall is facing multiple charges that include child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, electronically furnishing obscene material to minors and violation of oath of office.

He has been booked into the Knox County Jail where he is awaiting extradition to Georgia. He will be transported to the Bibb County Jail.

Woodall worked as a GBI agent from December 2011 until his resignation last month.
