Fire in Capitol Heights home leaves woman, firefighter injured

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. - A woman is in critical condition and a firefighter was injured after a fire broke out in a Capitol Heights home, according to officials.

Prince George's County Fire says the fire happened at the 700 block of Eastern Avenue Sunday morning.

Officials say the fire started in the basement and extended to the first floor of the home. 

Prince George's County fire says a woman in the home was injured and is in critical condition.

A firefighter's ears were burned from the blaze, officials say and is being treated at a hospital burn unit.
