WASHINGTON - Tragedy struck this weekend when a recent graduate of D.C. Fire and EMS died following a fall on Saturday night.
What we know:
Sadia D. Williams, 21, was a probationary firefighter with the District's Engine Co. 13, according to D.C.'s Fire and EMS Department.
"Probationary Firefighter Williams was a dedicated employee, a rising professional and a bright presence within our organization," the department said in a statement. "Throughout her training at the D.C. Fire and EMS Training Academy, she displayed strength, commitment and the promise of a meaningful career in public service."
"The department extends its deepest condolences to her family, loved ones, and all who served with her, and is working closely with her family during this unimaginable time," it added.
What we don't know:
Details of Williams' fall have yet to be released.
