Final phase of Metro safetrack begins today

Starting today, the Shady Grove and Rockville Metro rail stations will be closed, as part of the safe track program.

This is part of the 16th and final phase of Metro's safe track segment.

Metro says it completed three years' of track work during the past 12 months and replaced more than 50,000 wooden cross ties resulting in improved safety and reliability.
