FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — A Fairfax County man has been arrested on a charge of impersonating an officer after police say he was seen trying to pull over cars on an interstate.

Virginia State Police say a concerned citizen reported a white Chevy Impala with flashing blue and red lights trying to pull over cars on Interstate 66 in Prince William County on Saturday. Police tracked the plate number to the home of 23-year-old Sherif Ahmad.

Police say they found Ahmad asleep inside the Impala with the lights on and the engine running Sunday night. When police searched the car, they say they found marijuana, and red and blue strobe lights embedded in the car's lower grill.

Ahmad is charged with marijuana possession and impersonating an officer. It's unclear whether he has an attorney.
