Fairfax County day care worker sexually abused children, police say

A day care worker in Fairfax County has been arrested after police say children have come forward with allegations of inappropriate touching and sexual abuse.

Officers say 38-year-old Rolly Hammond faces charges of three counts of aggravated sexual battery, one count of forcible sodomy and one count of indecent liberties by a custodian.

Police say they arrested Hammond after a child came forward and said he inappropriately touched them. A juvenile also came forward and said they had been abused for several years by Hammond.

Authorities say Hammond is a daycare worker with the Department of Family Services School Age Child Care (SACC) program based at West Springfield Elementary School in Springfield.

Anyone concerned that their child may have had inappropriate contact with Hammond is asked to contact authorities at 703-246-7800.
