Entry restricted at high school in Woodbridge after nearby bank robbery investigation
WOODBRIDGE (FOX 5 DC) - Entry into a Prince William County high school is being restricted while police respond to a bank robbery nearby.
Officers say a man entered the Union Bank on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge around 9:30 a.m. and demanded money. Police say no weapons were seen and that the man fled on foot.
As a precaution, Gar-Field High School has been placed under a 'precautionary secure' status. Authorities say all are safe but entry into the building is restricted.
No injuries have been reported.
Police describe the suspect as a 40-year-old black male, 6-feet-tall, wearing a beige or brown jacket, blue jeans, and an orange cloth in his pocket.
