Elderly woman rescued in Oxon Hill, Md. home after floor collapses
OXON HILL, Md. - An elderly woman was trapped in the basement of her home in Oxon Hill early Tuesday morning after her living-room floor collapsed into the basement, according to Prince George's County Fire Department.
Fire crews were able to free the woman, described as in her 80s, around 7 a.m., according to officials.
The partial collapse happened in the 7500 block of Abbington Dr. in Oxon Hill at a one-story house, according to Prince George's County Fire and EMS. The first floor partially collapsed into the basement.
The woman is in good condition and was taken to a hospital for further evaluation, according to officials.
