Elderly woman rescued in Oxon Hill, Md. home after floor collapses

An elderly woman was trapped in the basement of her home in Oxon Hill early Tuesday morning after her living-room floor collapsed into the basement, according to Prince George's County Fire Department.

Fire crews were able to free the woman, described as in her 80s, around 7 a.m., according to officials.

The partial collapse happened in the 7500 block of Abbington Dr. in Oxon Hill at a one-story house, according to Prince George's County Fire and EMS. The first floor partially collapsed into the basement.

The woman is in good condition and was taken to a hospital for further evaluation, according to officials.
