Driver dead, infant passenger in critical after accident in Forestville

FORESTVILLE, Md. - One person was killed and an infant passenger is in critical conditions after a car accident Thursday night in Forestville.

The accident happened around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Suitland Parkway and Forestville Road.

The driver of one vehicle was killed. An infant passenger of the same vehicle was taken to an area hospital and remains in critical condition.

The driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

During the investigation into the deadly crash, an unoccupied U.S. Park Police cruiser was struck by a driver. No injuries were reported. Police arrested the driver of the striking vehicle on suspicion of drunk driving.
