Driver arrested after police pursuit ends in wreck on bridge

(AP) -- Authorities say a man has been arrested after leading police on a pursuit in Baltimore and Anne Arundel Counties and crashing into a tractor trailer on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Maryland State Police say the pursuit began after the man fled following an attempted traffic stop in Baltimore County Wednesday evening. Officials say police tried to get the man to stop on the outer loop of I-695 and I-97 before following the car onto the bridge, where it collided with a tractor trailer.

Neither the suspect nor the tractor trailer driver was injured in the crash.

Police say they were unable to identify the man at the time of the arrest. He's expected to face multiple criminal and traffic charges.
