Dog rescued from freezing waters of Lake Montclair in Prince William County (VIDEO)

MONTCLAIR, Va. - A poor frozen pup was rescued from a pond in Prince William County, according to officials.

The rescue was captured on video as Prince William County Fire and Rescue crews were called to Fishermans Cove at Battersea Road in Montclair for reports of a dog that had wandered onto the ice.

They found him about 20 yards from shore and were able to get him to safety.

Officials say that with the continuing cold weather, locals should be aware of icy conditions and bodies of water that are covered with ice and should not allow their pets to roam free on ice.
