Dog living at Va. animal shelter for over 2 years still looking for a new home

A Virginia animal shelter is trying to find a home for a dog that has been living at their shelter for over two years.

The Colonial Heights Animal Shelter is reaching out through social media to spread the word about Roxy, a 2 1/2-year-old female cattle dog mix.

She came to the shelter as a puppy and was adopted at one point, but it did not work out with her owners and she was later returned.

The animal shelter wrote on their Facebook page that Roxy is very active and high-energy, very intelligent and knows commands.

But the shelter also warns she is still housebroken, very selective of the people she gets to know and bond with, and "many pass by Roxy because she is protective of her space and appears to be aggressive. Not many at all have stopped and asked to know more."

If you are interested in adopting Roxy, you can contact the shelter at 804-520-9397.
