DC police investigating 2 overnight homicides
WASHINGTON - District of Columbia police are investigating two overnight homicides.
Police say officers responded to the 3200 block of 28th Street Southeast at roughly 1 a.m. on Saturday after hearing gunshots in the area. Police say while canvassing the area the officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the man died at the hospital.
The victim has been identified as 39 year-old Mr. Marcellus Green, of Southeast DC.
On Saturday, September 19, 2015, at approximately 1:30 am, 22 year-old Steven Pugh, of Southwest DC, and 22 year-old Maricco Knight, of Southeast DC were arrested following a vehicle pursuit and charged with First Degree Murder While Armed in the shooting death of Marcellus Green.
Three hours later at roughly 4 a.m., officers were called to the 2400 block of Elvans Road Southeast for a report of a man down. When they arrived the officers found a man fatally shot. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
