DACA protesters rally on Capitol Hill
WASHINGTON - Students from the region and Dreamers from across the country gathered to call for a permanent solution for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program before the end of the year.
President Donald Trump announced in September he would end the DACA, which was spearheaded by former President Barack Obama's executive order and protected thousands of undocumented immigrants who were brought into the U.S. illegally as children.
Organizers estimated there were between 1,000 and 1,500 people who participated in Thursday's protests that ended on Capitol Hill.
