Cheers to the Weekend: Monkey Business
It's that time of the week when we say "Cheers to the weekend!" Every Friday night, we invite a local bartender to share their signature cocktail.
Terrence Swain, the head bartender at Bourbon Steak at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington D.C., joined us to mix up "Monkey Business."
Cocktail: Fallen Leaf
Recipe:
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Monkey Shoulder Blended Scotch
.5 oz Drambuie
.75 oz Lemon juice
.75 oz Orange juice
.5 oz Banana puree
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 dusting Sugar, to dust banana slices
To garnish Banana slices, brûleed
To garnish Nutmeg, grated
Method:
Shake scotch, Drambuie, lemon juice, orange juice, banana puree and Angostura bitters over ice. Fine strain into a double old-fashioned glass with cold draft ice cubes. Garnish with banana slices that have been brûleed with a culinary torch after dusting with sugar, and finish with freshly grated nutmeg.
