Charter fishing boat and sailboat collide in Chesapeake Bay in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - A charter fishing boat was involved in a collision with a sailboat Friday in the Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis.

The crash happened at around noon near Thomas Point, officials said.

Maryland Natural Resources Police said the commercial boat was being operated out of Kent Island while the J/105 sailboat was sailing from Annapolis.

There were no serious injuries as a result of the collision, according to police.

The Coast Guard is investigating the crash.
