Camp counselor arrested for sexually abusing 11-year-old girl

A camp counselor has been arrested for inappropriately touching an 11-year-old girl at a summer camp.

Montgomery County police have charged 43-year-old Jose Luis Casumbal Valenzuela with sex abuse of a minor and third-degree sex offense.

Police say the victim attended the Holton-Arms Creative Summer camp on River Road in Bethesda between June 30 and July 3.

She told detectives that Valenzuela touched her while he was teaching magic classes at the camp.

Valenzuela has been an employee at the camp since the summer of 2012.

Anyone who believes they were also a victim of Valenzuela are being asked to call Montgomery County police's Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5460.
