Burglary suspect arrested after hiding in ceiling of movie theater

GREENBELT, Md. - Police have safely taken a burglary suspect into custody after he barricaded himself in the ceiling of a movie theater at Beltway Plaza Mall in Greenbelt.

Prince George's County Police spokesperson Jennifer Donelan said dozens of officers and the fire department responded to the empty theater after the suspect climbed the scaffolding behind a movie screen and hid in the ceiling.

Donelan tweeted a photo of a police officer climbing a ladder to negotiate with the suspect.

The suspect would eventually be apprehended by police and escorted out of the movie theater.
