Boy struck, killed by vehicle in Anne Arundel County

ARNOLD, MD. - Police are investigating after a child was struck and killed by a vehicle in Anne Arundel County.

Officers say the 12-year-old victim was walking with his mother and brother on a sidewalk near Andrew Hill Road and Bay Green Drive in Arnold when a van veered off the road and hit him. The driver then hit a tree.

The boy was flown to Johns Hopkins Children's Center where he later died. The driver of the van, identified as Michael Blair Gauthier, was taken to Anne Arundel Medical Center with minor injuries

The driver was charged with manslaughter and police say more charges could be coming pending toxicology results.
