Body of Miguel Carrillo, missing Fairfax County teen, found in Prince William County

A body found in Prince William County has been identified as a missing Fairfax County teen, according to officials.

The victim, identified as 18-year-old Miguel Angel Ruiz Carrillo of Alexandria, was found in an area near Nokesville Road and Fauquier Drive in Nokesville, Virginia on Tuesday, authorities stated.

Detectives said they searched the area after receiving a tip during the course of their investigation.

Carrillo was reported missing by his family on Aug. 4. According to his mother, Carrillo was last seen fishing at a pond when witnesses say they saw him being attacked by a group of men.

Investigators had stated back on Aug. 8 that they believed Carrillo was last seen in a wooded area near the end of Pole Road at Pondside Terrace in the Mt. Vernon area.

On Aug. 14, Fairfax County police announced the arrests of three people connected to Carrillo's disappearance.

Jose Vincent-Sosa, 20, Edwin Dinarte Moreno, 18, and a female juvenile were charged with abduction and gang participation.

Investigators said Carrillo's disappearance and death appeared to be gang related and did not appear to be a random crime.

Anyone with information about Carrillo is urged to call the Fairfax County Police Department at (703) 691- 2131.
