All lanes open after Beltway Outer Loop crash

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (FOX 5 DC) -- All lanes have re-opened after a crash on the Beltway's Outer Loop that created massive backups during rush hour on Friday.

A 2-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries during the crash, and a 5-year-old sustained serious injuries. Officials said the 5-year-old's injuries are not life threatening.

Maryland traffic authorities indicated that the crash occurred prior to Branch Avenue around 5:20 p.m.

They have not indicated what might have prompted the crash.
