All clear given after reports of suspicious package near White House

WASHINGTON – Police say they have cleared the scene after an earlier investigation of a suspicious package in the area of Lafayette Square.

Investigators closed traffic in and around the park which is located directly across from the White House,

The initial call came to police around 7:30 a.m.

The investigation is continuing, however, the scene has been cleared and road closures are now open.
