7-year-old boy who donated hair to kids with cancer diagnosed with aggressive form of disease

In a cruel twist of fate - a seven-year-old boy, who spent years growing his hair long so that he could donate it to children fighting cancer, has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of the disease.

Vinny Desautels recently donated his long locks to 'Wigs For Kids,'a program that supports children who have lost their hair fighting cancer and other diseases. His family said Vinny let his hair grow for two-years despite being teased.

Vinny was recently taken to the doctor, his grandparents said online, after experiencing pain in his knee and eye. After several tests and exams, cancer masses were found on his hip and eye. Doctors say the cancer appears to be aggressive in nature.

Nearly $80,000 has been raised on a GoFundMe page set up for Vinny and his family to help with expenses while he undergoes treatment.
