6 injured in early morning accident on Indian Head Highway

OXON HILL, Md. - Six people were injured in an accident along a Prince George's County highway early Friday morning.

The accident happened along southbound Indian Head Highway near Palmer Road in Oxon Hill at around 1:40 a.m.

Two vehicles were involved in the collision. Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed for several hours.

Both directions of Indian Head Highway opened to traffic around 6 a.m.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
