5 people shot in 3 separate DC incidents on Wednesday; 1 killed

Police say a woman has died and another man was wounded in a shooting on the 4300 block of Edson Place in Northeast D.C.

D.C. police say they received a call for the shooting at around 6:18 p.m. Wednesday.

Sources tell FOX 5's Emily Miller that one of the victims was shot in the lower body.

Homicide detectives were requested to the scene and K9 units were also canvassing the area.

There is no information on a suspect at this time.

There were two other shootings in the District on Wednesday.

A half a mile down the street and nearly three hours earlier, two juveniles were shot after getting off a Metrobus at East Capitol Street and Benning Road. They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A male teenager was shot in the 3100 block of Randle Place in Southeast D.C. at around 4 p.m. The victim was conscious and breathing when he was taken to the hospital.
