4 shot, 1 stabbed overnight in DC
WASHINGTON - Four people were shot and one person was stabbed during a violent night in the District.
Police say the stabbing occurred around 9:30 p.m. Thursday on the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue in the southeast. One person was hospitalized. Officers say the motive for the stabbing is unclear at this time.
About an hour and a half later and roughly one mile away, officers say three people were shot in the 1500 block of 19th Street. Investigators say they are searching for a small, black vehicle that may have been involved in the crime. The three victims remain hospitalized in unknown conditions.
Just before midnight, police responded to a shooting incident in northeast D.C. A man was shot in the 3700 block of Hayes Street. Police say he remains hospitalized in critical condition.
It is not believed that the incidents are related. Police are continuing their investigations at this time.
