4 Damascus JV football players to be charged as adults with rape

Four Damascus high school junior varsity football players will be charged as adults with first-degree rape for an incident that alleged occurred in a locker room on Halloween, the State's Attorney told Montgomery County Public Schools on Wednesday.

Five students in all were charged by police.

Four of them will be charged as adults with first-degree rape. One will remain in juvenile court.

Montgomery County police named the following suspects:

Jean Claude Abedi, 15, of Clarksburg, Md. - charged with two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of attempted first-degree rape, and two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree rape.

Kristian Jamal Lee, 15, of Germantown, Md. - charged with two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of attempted first-degree rape, and two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree rape.

Will Daniel Smith, 15, of Clarksburg, Md. - charged with two counts of first-degree rape, two counts of attempted first-degree rape, and two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree rape.

Caleb Thorpe, 15, of Gaithersburg, Md/ - charged with four counts of first-degree rape and four counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree rape.

Police say the four were arrested and taken to the Central Processing Unit.

Police identified four male victims in the incident.
