2 people shot in Centreville, Fairfax County police say

CENTREVILLE, Va. - Fairfax County police have responded to a shooting in Centreville, officials say.

According to police, two people were shot Wednesday in the 14800 block of Maidstone Court. Both victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers along with a K-9 and a helicopter were searching for suspects in connection to the shooting. Police say witnesses were able to provide them with descriptions that led to officers detaining several people for questioning.

Police say they do not believe there is a threat to public safety at this time.

The shooting remains under investigation.
