2 men killed in early Sunday crash in Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, Md. - Police in Montgomery County are investigating a crash that killed two people early Sunday morning.

Investigators say it happened near the Four Corners area of Silver Spring on University Boulevard West at Royalton Road.

Police say the driver of a Lexus SUV somehow lost control of the car and hit a utility pole. Both the driver and his passenger died at the scene.

Police say the driver, 24-year-old Leonel Osvaldo Gonzales, and passenger 28-year-old Hodimyr Gonzalez, both from Silver Spring were killed in the crash.

According to investigators, they believe speed could have contributed to the crash.
