2 men dead in Prince William County after shootings in Dumfries, Woodbridge, police say

Authorities are investigating two homicides in Prince William County after two men were killed in separate shootings in Woodbridge and in Dumfries.


The early morning shooting in the Dumfries area happened just before 4 a.m. on the 3100 Chesapeake Drive. Officers found the victim in the roadway suffering from gunshot wounds. The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died. 

On Monday night just before 10 p.m., a man was shot in a home in the 1300 block of E St in the Woodbridge area. That man was transported to the hospital where he later died.

No arrests have been made in either incident. Police are continuing their investigations at this time.

Overall, homicides were on the decline in Prince William County until very recently:

2017:  4 homicides
2018: 9 homicides
2019: 11 homicides
