12-year-old boy missing from Frederick County located and safe

EMMITSBURG, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - UPDATE: Police say Joshua Garrett Thompson has been located and is safe.

Police are asking for the public's help finding a young boy missing from Frederick County, Maryland.

Officers say 12-year-old Joshua Garrett Thompson was last seen walking in the area of Shoemaker Road and Baptist Road in the Emmitsburg and Taneytown areas around 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Joshua was wearing a blue shirt, black shorts, boots, and was carrying a brown satchel.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
