1 killed in Prince George's County crash after car strikes tree

ACCOKEEK, Md. - A man died after a car struck a tree in Prince George's County early Friday morning, according to officials.

Prince George's County Police said the single-vehicle crash happened a wooded area in the 15200 block of Derbyshire Way near Livingston Road in Accokeek at about 3:30 a.m.

Authorities said the vehicle hit a tree and rolled over, killing the driver, only identified by officials as an adult male. Officials said a passenger in the car fled the scene following the crash and investigators wanted to speak with the passenger.

Detectives said their investigation into the cause of the crash was ongoing. Anyone with information that could aid detectives in their investigation was urged to call Prince George's County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477.
