1 killed, another wounded in DC barber shop shooting

Police say a man has died and another person was injured during a shooting at a Northeast D.C. barber shop Tuesday.

Officers responded to Snap's Barber Shop in the 6200 block of Dix Street at around 12:22 p.m. where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital.

According to police, 25-year-old Kayvon Herder, a customer at the barber shop, was pronounced dead at the hospital while a barber shop worker was being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police confirmed two suspects, who concealed their faces, walked into the barber shop and shot the two victims.

Investigators say they are looking for two black males wearing all-black clothing and driving a black 4-door Infiniti with paper tags. The vehicle was last seen headed towards 58th Street.

About an hour earlier, police were called to the 2400 block of I Street for a shooting. Officers say they are looking for a black male, between 18 and 25 years old with a slim build. Police say they were wearing tan pants, an orange and red sweatshirt and were last seen driving a black vehicle.

It is unclear if the two shooting incidents are related. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
