1 injured in crash involving DC National Guard vehicle

One person was injured Wednesday morning in a crash involving a D.C. National Guard vehicle in southeast Washington.

Capt. Tinashe Machona said a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle, part of a five-vehicle convoy, collided with another vehicle around 6:14 a.m. at 8th Street and North Carolina Avenue.

The driver of the civilian vehicle was trapped, rescued, and taken to the hospital with minor injuries. 

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
