Taxi driver dead after crashing into Metrobus, minivan

A taxicab driver is dead and two others critically injured after crashing into a minivan and a D.C. Metrobus. 

A taxicab driver is dead and two others critically injured in a terrible crash on Route One in Fairfax County

The crash was reported just before 11 a.m. in the 6300 block of Richmond Highway. It was a violent and deadly collision between a MetrobUS, minivan, and taxicab in the northbound lanes of Richmond Highway south of the Beltway in Alexandria.

Fairfax County police say the bus and minivan were stopped in traffic at a light. The taxi, moving at a rate of speed, slammed into the minivan — which crashed into the bus.

The taxicab driver was killed. Three people in the minivan injured — two of them critically.

The four passengers and Metrobus operator were not hurt.
