Severe weather warnings for Maryland and Virginia Sunday night

WASHINGTON - The National Weather Service has released Severe Weather and Thunderstorm warnings for areas west of the DC-area, including northwest Virginia and Western Maryland.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 11:00 p.m. for northern Virginia as well as western Maryland.

There is a severe Thunderstorm Warning for Fauquier and Prince William County in VA until 7:30 p.m.

There may be heavy hail and winds throughout the area through the evening.

There was a tornado warning for Culpeper County in Virginia, but that warning was canceled by 6:30 p.m.
