DC Weather: Break from freezing temps for the weekend

Saturday will bring a break from the Arctic air that has entrenched the D.C. area.

The morning will start off cold, with some spots in the teens and single digits, according to FOX 5 meteorologist Gwen Tolbart. Highs Saturday will be above freezing in the upper 30s and 40s.

Expect a good amount of sunshine and some clouds later into the evening hours. Saturday night will see more clouds with an overnight low around 30 degrees.

Weather forecast for NFC Championship Sunday

What we know:

Highs on Sunday will rise into the mid 40s with less sunshine. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a bit of a breeze.

Philadelphia will battle the same clouds as in D.C., but Tolbart says to expect some clouds to clear by game time. Temperatures during the game will be in the lower 40s and upper 30s.

The Week Ahead:

The week will start with mostly sunny skies and into the week a mix of sun and clouds.  Tempeartures will continue to moderate and move into the low 50s by Wednesday before cooling back down again into the upper 30s by Friday as more cold air returns.
