Peace in Ukraine may look more like Korea than a full resolution
Harry Kazianis, president of the National Security Journal, joined The Final 5 to weigh in after President Trump said he?s willing to bring Putin and Zelensky face-to-face. Kazianis said the recent flurry of summits was ?historic,? but a true peace deal is still months away. With Ukraine constitutionally barred from ceding territory and Russia believing it has the upper hand, he suggested a Korean-style armistice ? a tense, frozen peace without full recognition of territorial claims ? may be the only realistic path forward. He also noted Trump appears focused on ending the war quickly, reflecting limits on U.S. spending and political will for a prolonged conflict.
