Manziel turns himself in, posts bond for domestic violence charge

Domestic assault suspect and former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel surrendered Wednesday afternoon to police in Highland Park.

Police confirmed Manziel was booked at their facility and posted a $1,500 bond.

The former Texas A&M quarterback is accused of beating his ex-girlfriend in January at an upscale Dallas hotel and then again later on their way to her Fort Worth apartment.

Even though the incidents did not happen in Highland Park, Manziel was allowed to surrender at any police department in Texas.

Manziel is scheduled to appear in court Thursday morning for his first hearing on the class a misdemeanor charge.
