Woman killed in violent Howard County crash
CLARKSVILLE, Md. - A woman was killed in a violent crash with another vehicle in Howard County on Monday, according to officials.
The two-car collision happened on Ten Oaks Road in Clarksville at around 12:22 p.m.
Howard County police say a 2017 Nissan Sentra traveling westbound on Ten Oaks Road approaching Heather Glen Way crossed the double yellow line and collided with a 2013 Ford Expedition heading in the opposite direction.
A passenger in the Nissan, 23-year-old Deadra Wellington-Brown, of Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene. Patrick Ingram Holmes, 24, also of Columbia, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two people in the Expedition was treated at the scene with minor injuries.
Authorities said Ten Oaks Road was closed from Route 108 to Brighton Dam Road and the Ten Oaks Road traffic circle for about five hours.
Police are still investigating the cause of the collision.
