Woman grazed by stray bullet inside home during night that saw several shot in DC

Several people were shot overnight in the District including a woman who was struck by a stray bullet while she was inside of her home.

Authorities say that shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of 19th Street in Northeast, D.C. Police say the woman was inside of her home when she heard gunshots from outside. The woman was grazed by a bullet that penetrated her front door and struck her on her right side. Emergency crews transported her to a nearby hospital where she remains in stable condition. The shooting is still under investigation at this time.

Elsewhere in the District, one person was shot on 50th Street around 10:30 p.m. Thursday and two people were shot near First and Danbury Streets around the same time. Police say all injuries are considered non-life-threatening and no suspects have been identified.

Officer say one person was shot and one was stabbed on Ridge Street around midnight. The injuries are considered non-life-threatening. No suspects or motives have been identified.
